Augusta County 4-H Camp Registration

Date: 4/5/2022 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm at the Augusta Extension Office

Augusta County 4-H Camp will take place July 11-15.  Registration for 4-H camp will take place on April 5th from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm at the Augusta Extension Office, 13 Government Center Lane, Verona, VA 24482.  Registration is mandatory for those who are planning to attend camp.  For more information please visit the Augusta County 4-H website:  https://www.augusta4h.com/junior-4-h-camp

Pond Management Seminar

Do you have a pond on your property or farm?  Are you having trouble with watery weeds, algae or other issues?  Need help preventing weeds or algae from taking over your pond?  The Augusta County Extension Office will host a Pond Management Seminar on Thursday May 12, 2022 from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm at the Smith Meeting Rooms of the Augusta County Government Center (18 Gov. Center Lane, Verona).  The featured speaker will be Dr. David Crosby, Aquaculture Specialist at Virginia State University.  Dr. Crosby will give an overview of prevention methods of algae and watery weed encroachment, as well as treatment and management advice to revive ponds that have been dominated by aquatic weeds.  We do plan to have a limited number of water testing kits available for registrants.  Please sign up by calling 540-245-5750 by May 6 to provide the best chance we can have kits available.
